Along with stress reduction, breathing techniques, light relaxed exercise and healthy nutritional intake, progesterone levels can rise helping to balance your hormones.
Healthy fats are needed for many body processes including regular ovulation, supporting cellular growth, improved egg quality and healthy sperm. Fats also help our body to absorb fat soluble vitamins such as A, essential for the reproductive system, D needed for hormone production, E protective of the reproductive system and an antioxidant and K for healthy menstruation.
If you’re being pressured to lose weight for fertility, pregnancy or menstrual health and advised to have a low fat diet, I’d be seriously questioning this advice and asking how you’re going to get these essential nutrients.
Supplementation isn’t a replacement for whole foods, which have other physiological benefits, such as blood sugar control and healthy digestion and microbiome, the gut flora. Both of which are linked to conditions such as pcos, thyroid issues and endometriosis.
